Day 16- July 12 P.E.I.
A lazy morning sleeping in, updating my blog, reading, swimming, bike rides and walking. After lunch we drove 10 minutes down the road to Green Gables Heritage Place where we heard all about LM Montgomery and the classical book she wrote in 1908, Anne Of Green Gables. This is the farm and land where she based the setting for her fictional novel. We walked down Lover's Lane and saw the Haunted Forest. Darby had a Raspberry Cordial just like Anne's friend in the novel, but she didn't get drunk.

Headed back to the trailer to grab our swim gear and towels as the weather was incredible, blue sky and 27 degrees. Went across the road to Cavendish National Park and beach. We walked along a long boardwalk to reach the soft sandy beach on the Gulf of the St. Lawrence.

Gale kids in their natural habitat! |
We went swimming and saw Atlantic Red Jelly Fish, also known as the Lions Mane jelly fish, in the water. They are the largest known jelly fish and were about 30 cm wide and had tentacles 60 cm long, at least you could see these guys coming, not like the iragangi box jelly fish in Australia!

Drove a little further around the island to North Rustico to Fisherman's Wharf for supper. We all had seafood except Darby, and all enjoyed their 60 foot salad bar.

Crazy square and diamond lights |
Brief stop at a lookout as the sun was setting and a final stop to pick up some bread for breakfast. The red street lights are square and the yellow light is a diamond, but sometimes comes on after the advance green.
What a full day...ya Scott and Brody did look equally excited to be leaving Anne's house! Love your explanation of the traffic lights :)
