Day 5- July 1 Thunder Bay to Wawa

Day 5- July 1  Thunder Bay to Wawa, Ontario  HAPPY CANADA DAY

Up again early reading and blogging this morning while everyone slept.  Everything we had hanging out to dry was ready to be folded up and put away.  Left Happy Land Park in the sunshine making our way to Thunder Bay for a fuel stop.  Got our first glimpse of Lake Superior.

Stopped at the Terry Fox  look out and monument.  We all really enjoyed this stop, but I think they've moved the statue since the last time I drove past in 1984.

We continued on along the scenic byway of Lake Superior stopping for lunch at Rossport right on the lake.  Hailey was the first to touch it and Mickey got to drink it.  It was quite chilly at 9 degrees here, brrrr!

Shortly after we left the fog started and the temperature dropped to 7 degrees.  We saw a fox and a moose today.

Got fuel at Marathon, the most expensive so far $155.9/l!!!  Pulled into Wawa for a photo with the big goose at the information centre.

Brody got out too this time.

Got a site at Wawa RV and Campground for the night.  So many mosquitos here.  Our  fun was watching a squirrel eat a nut on our picnic table and on our bikes.

Another good day as we travelled 7 hours today.

  1. Wow amazing that it got that cold. We've had lovely warm weather for the last week. A few rain showers but generally low 20's
