Day 7- July 3 Algonquin Park
Left our hillbilly campsite in search of the big nickel in Sudbury. It was difficult to find as the ring round doesn't go past it any more. The nickel was built in honor of Canada's centennial and cost 700,000 real nickels to make or $35,000.

We found it!! |
Headed south along Hwy 11 towards Huntsville. Stopped at Farmer's Daughter Gourmet market for some fresh cheese buns and fruit. It started to rain AGAIN as we approached Algonquin Park. I have previously been here with the Girl Guides when I was a teenager and canoed the lakes for a few days. I wish I could remember which lake it was we were on. We stopped at the visitor centre and enjoyed the amazing and interactive displays on how lakes became forests, the animals in the park and the early logging. We all wished we had more time to enjoy the center.

Rain had stopped when we left the park and made our way to Serenity Hills campground in Renfrew, Ontario. No one has killed each other YET on our travels!
