Day 2 - June 28 Saskatchewan

Day 2- June 28 Saskatchewan to Manitoba

Woke up this morning, looked around and couldn't believe it we were in a casino parking lot.  Left our lovely paved campsite in Swift Current for Moose Jaw to visit Rex & Elaine Crocker.

Visiting in Moose Jaw
After a short visit we toured the tunnels. We took the 45 min tour of passage to fortune depicting the Chinese immigrants to Canada. Our tour guide helped us understand how the Chinese were treated by re-enacting a day in their life. We were treated like the immigrants, yelled at and called coolies, a derogatory term used to describe the Chinese immigrants.  Darby had to empty the toilet bucket, Hailey got in trouble for turning on the lantern she had to return and Brody forgot to empty the water bucket, all of us were yelled at numerous times. Acting this out helped us understand better how they must have felt.

Arrived in Regina around 4:30 for another quick visit with Steve & Kendra Shultz just before her softball game.  They were in Regina for provincials from their home town of Carlyle.

Hailey wants to see each provincial capital and their parliament buildings. during our trip.  Our first legislative building is in  Regina at Wascana Lake.

Left Regina just as the rain started. It poured all the way to Manitoba, it almost looked like the hwy was covered with worms.  I was the only one brave enough to go out in the wind and rain for a photo!

Hurry up I'm getting soaked!!

Still raining as we pulled into Meadowlark campground in Brandon around 10 pm.  We travelled for 8 hours today.
