Day 20- July 16 Cabot Trail

Day 20- July 16   Cabot Trail

Left Mickey in the cool trailer at 'The Lake' campsite for the day.  First stop was Cheticamp to stop and see the breathtaking church that dominates their water front.
Saint Pierre

Went into Saint Pierre church and lit a candle for Suzanne, my good friend, who would have turned 50 yesterday.

Got to the Cabot Trail entrance to explore scenic Cabot Trail.  Looked at the maps and aerial view of the area we were about to explore.  Drove along windy roads, beautiful cliffs, lighthouses, beaches, incredible plateaus, rugged coastline and pounding waves.
Learning about the trail

Cabot Trail
Beautiful coast line
Windy roads

Never a shortage of lighthouses on this trip

Had lunch at Pleasant Bay while exploring the beach.  It was 33 degrees so we stopped at Black Brook Cove for a swim in the breakers.  Lots of fun in the crashing waves and body surfing, we were so full of sand after!!

Kept on going till Mary Ann Falls where Brody and Hailey went for yet another swim.  Water was cool and refreshing on a hot day.

Stopped at Baddeck for fuel at $1.37/L.  Got back to camp for another late supper.  Mickey was great again after being left alone, we are glad we brought him as he is having fun peeing on trees in every province.
Number 1 Dog!

Drove 6 hours today doing the Cabot Trail loop, but were gone for 9 hours.
