Relaxing morning reading and exploring our campsite and lake. Went for a swim in the pool while it was raining. After lunch we headed into Toronto leaving Mickey in the cool trailer again.
We have become experts and without any problems we found the parliament building at Queen's Park. It had large dark sandstone bricks and big archways. We walked around while Scott chatted with the security guards. This was our last parliament building on our Cross Canada Trip. We have seen 9 since we left.

In the sunshine we found our way to a parking lot between the Rogers Center (sky dome) and the CN tower for the day. We picked up our tickets to the Blue Jays game for tonight. We couldn't believe how early people were lining up to get in the game and get free t-shirts, almost 3 hours before it started.
Waiting to get our game tickets |
We walked over to the CN Tower and bought our tickets to go up the 533.33 m tall structure built in 1976. It took us 58 seconds to ride the glass faced high speed elevator at 22 km/hr to the observation platform at 346 m. We found it interesting to look at the buildings, pools, parks, runway, boats on Lake Ontario and how small people looked below. The kids had fun laying on the glass floor at 342m and walking on the outdoor terrace. We weren't done yet as we traveled up 33 more stories through the core of the tower to the sky pod. We were at 447 m and had a 360 degree perspective of Toronto and Lake Ontario.

Great ending to a great trip up the CN Tower |
We made our way down the tower and over to the Rogers Center. We stopped at the gift store so all the kids were suited up in Blue Jay shirts for the game. The Blue Jays were playing against the Baltimore Orioles and lost 9-3. Scott had the typical jumbo hot dog with the works and also peanuts later on. The kids asked lots of questions as the baseball game went on, Scott had all the answers (LOL)!!! We did the seventh inning stretch and ate popcorn in the open sky dome. It was a beautiful night for a baseball game, so clear you could see the moon.

We left the Roger's Center about 10:45 and were in bed as soon as we got back to the trailer after a very full and exciting day.
Haha...loved your squishy "usie" and so glad Scott explained the game to you guys...maybe he can share with me too lol
ReplyDeleteGreat photos from the tower too. I've been to TO but just airport then struggled thru traffic to visit Bills uncle in Trenton on way to Germany (many years ago) :)
Brody looks like a man! Yikes! I remember wrapping him up like a little burrito when he was only a day or two old.....eek! CN Tower, very cool, but very scary...brave kids laying on the floor like that!
